Annemarie ChristophersonEarthquake Physics

Biography
Annemarie’s research on hazard and risk assessment aims to develop robust tools, in particular Structured Expert Elicitation and Bayesian Networks, to support decision-making under uncertainty. She has applied such tools to carbon capture and storage, volcanic eruption, earthquake forecast models, and ice-sheet stability.
Project role
In the ‘Beneath the Waves’ research programme, Annemarie is leading the Bayesian Network development, integrating anatomy models, monitoring data, expert judgement into probabilistic forecasts of hazard occurrence and risk exposure.
